Bryan Strople, PT, DPT, TPI Level 1 and 2

“I believe that patient care starts with empathy and with the idea that we treat people, not just medical conditions. In working with various patient age-ranges, medical statuses, and socioeconomic backgrounds, I strive to treat every patient I encounter with the same attention to medical care. I have learned that simply listening to my patients actually provides more useful medical information than many tests do and helps to create a more personalized treatment approach. Because rehabilitation involves constant patient-doctor collaboration, I am able to learn from my patients and this enables me to have a special connection with them throughout their rehabilitation. I treat all my patients with the most current evidenced-based medicine and combine it with clinical experience to use treatments that are proven to work.”

Bryan started his interest in the medical field long ago while attending a private high school in La Canada, CA as a three-sport athlete. He developed a strong motivation to work with athletes in all sports and carried this passion throughout his undergraduate coursework in Biopsychology at UCSB and after graduating with his Bachelor of Science, he enrolled at USC.

Bryan graduated Cum Laude with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008 from the University of Southern California. During his clinical education rotations, Bryan was trained under renowned shoulder specialists in the Kaiser Residency and Fellowship programs as well as McKenzie and Maitland manual specialists for Lumbar and Cervical spine dysfunction.

After graduating from USC, Bryan wanted to remain local in Southern California and worked for a sports-based outpatient orthopedic clinic in Arcadia. This unique clinic served a high number of triathletes, marathon runners, and local horse jockeys from Santa Anita race track. Later, Bryan was hired at a well-established orthopedic clinic in San Pedro. It was here that Bryan eventually became the clinical manager and their senior physical therapist. Bryan treated hundreds of patients with chronic headaches, balance dysfunctions, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, and complex work injuries.

Bryan has continuing education credits for hip pathology and treatment, Temporomandibular joint dysfunction, tendon pathologies, barefoot gait running analysis, shoulder evaluation and specialized treatment techniques through MLB team physicians. He has successfully treated nationally ranked swimmers, competitive high school athletes, and high performing: volleyball, basketball, baseball, cycling, running, soccer, surfing, motocross athletes of all ages, and professional racecar drivers.

Bryan prefers to make patient education a cornerstone of his treatments and believes that evidence-based practice techniques allow for the most optimal rehabilitation strategy. Evidence-based practice ensures effective manual therapy and proper exercise prescription. When these are combined with Bryan’s compassion and empathy, the result is a personal treatment style that works.

His treatment style of focused one-on-one therapy is a perfect fit for Huntington Beach Physical Therapy Specialists as a leader in personalized care for almost 20 years. Bryan is a Huntington Beach resident and enjoys running, biking, hiking, and camping with his wife Risha (also an HBPTS Physical Therapist), daughter Sloan, and their dog Charlie.
