“One of the true joys of doing my job as a physical therapist is being able to see my patients reach their goal of returning to doing what they love to do. I have a passion for communicating and collaborating with each patient to help them return to their optimal health, not just back to baseline. I pride myself on providing an exceptional individualized plan of care while giving each patient the personalized time and attention they deserve. I want to help people move better, perform better, and achieve their fitness goal.”

Edan injured his shoulder while playing collegiate baseball in Austin, TX and had to have surgery to repair his torn rotator cuff in his pitching arm. He was then prescribed physical therapy and this is where his interest in the field was originally sparked. In 2005, he finished his college baseball career and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biology.

Edan then worked as a physical therapy aide and a high school baseball coach while he applied to physical therapy schools across the country. Upon being accepted to the #1 school in the country for physical therapy, he relocated to the west coast to attend the University of Southern California. While attending USC he was trained by renowned physical therapists in the field of general orthopedics and sports rehabilitation.

After graduating from USC in 2010, Edan decided to stay in Orange County and work in two prominent orthopedic clinics in the area. During that time, he worked with a wide array of patients from different ages and backgrounds. He served as a clinical director and clinical coordinator of clinical education during that time, overseeing over 25 students from prominent universities. Taking advantage of his sports background he used his inside knowledge of sports to rehabilitate local athletes in baseball, hockey, football, swimming, surfing, paintball, soccer, track, cross-country running, marathon running, and volleyball.

Edan continued to further his education and experience to become more of an expert clinician while working. He attained his board certification as clinical specialist in orthopedics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He also attained his certification through the NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist to better equip him with knowledge to work with athletes of all levels. Edan has continued to take multiple continuing education courses covering multiple areas of expertise including; return to running, blood flow restriction, return to play, current concepts in knee, shoulder and hip injuries.

The Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League recruited him to come work as their physical therapist from 2019-2021. As part of the team, Edan acquired experience working with high level athletes in a team atmosphere. He worked closely with the team physicians, sports scientists, athletic trainers, and strength and conditioning coaches to provide the best collaborated treatments to the players. Over the continuum of his career Edan has had the privilege and joy of working with athletes from the NHL, MLB, NBA, NFL, ATP, and NCAA.

After his stint in the NHL, Edan returned to working in the clinic in Mission Viejo during the summer of 2022. Edan has enjoyed working with professional athletes, but also enjoys helping all patients reach their goals of returning to the lives they choose to lead. Working at Orthosport Physical Therapy OC has allowed Edan to provide current evidence-based physical medicine to the Orange County community. He incorporates a combination of approaches including instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, neuromuscular re-education, and performance training into his treatments.
